Every year the Catesby team come together for a day of volunteering and teambuilding. This year we selected volunteering with the Sussex Wildlife Trust as we have a number of land sites located within their region.
We spent the morning with part of their team at Seaford Head Nature Reserve in East Sussex carrying out a beach clean. Seaford Head one of the best places to enjoy spectacular views of the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs and Cuckmere Valley and is home to many nationally rare and significant species of plants, birds and insects.
After a quick safety briefing, we set to work recording and submitting our findings to the national marine conservation database, which enables them to collect valuable information on the litter found on our beaches. We manged to collect and dispose of over 25 kilos of waste which included everything from coffee cups and bottle tops to cable ties and food wrappers.
We then spent time with Buzz Active participating in some very wet and competitive team raft building challenges!
This was a great opportunity to get to know some of our new colleagues better who have recently joined the Catesby team as a result of the recent L&Q Estates acquisition.
