Over 70 families at Middlebeck received a free Christmas wreath during 2020 for families to enjoy and proudly display on their front doors throughout December.
The initiative was organised by Middlebeck’s community engagement officer Sim Duhra working in partnership with local florist, Lynne Earl-Pont, who supplied the wreaths.
With the pandemic it has been a difficult year to engage face to face with our residents, so by opting for this community initiative, I could deliver some of the wreaths on my bicycle and get to meet residents outdoors – to remain compliant with social distancing restrictions. “We also know that, now more than ever, it’s important to support local independent businesses and we’re delighted to have partnered with Lynne to deliver these beautiful wreaths to Middlebeck homes. We hope this small gesture will bring a much-needed touch of festive cheer and magic to the neighbourhood.”
SIM
I was very pleased to be approached by Sim to supply pine Christmas wreaths for the residents of Middlebeck. “With thirty years of floristry experience of creating contemporary and traditional designs in the Newark and Nottinghamshire area, I feel that now is the perfect time to start my new venture. I hope that with the support of local residents and customers old and new that my new little venture will succeed, and I look forward to welcoming the community to my store when we open our doors.”
