Working with the next generation of farmers, landowners and land agents the Catesby team has developed strong links with Harper Adams University and The Royal Agricultural University (RAU), hosting presentations and Q&A sessions with students studying Land and Property Management and Real Estate and Rural Land Management respectively. This has culminated in sponsorship of student prizes in modules around Planning Law, with representatives from Catesby attending the recent student graduation at Harper Adams.
A student tour of Houlton to see planning theory put into practice has been scheduled for early 2023.
As part of further outreach work Catesby have worked closely with The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) taking part in their planning podcast episode where Associate Director of Planning Ed Barrett discussed with Avril Roberts, CLA Property and Business Policy Adviser the key things to consider when looking to obtain planning permission through land promotion.
Catesby also hosted the CLA’s regional AGM at their head office in Houlton, followed by presentations by the Catesby team and the wider U&C team specifically about the site.
The day concluded with lunch and a walking and bus tour of the wider site, including a visit to the secondary school, showcasing to landowners how high quality development can be bought forward.
